The Genesis Series
Since 1971, Akers Church Building
Services, inc. has been helping churches provide the
facilities needed for effective ministry. Our specialty has
been custom design, buildings planned for each church's
specific ministries, and designed to fit each congregation's
site and style.
However, over the years we have found
many small or new churches that need to build who do not
need a custom design. Their need is simply an efficient,
attractive, quality building to serve as an economical tool
for basic ministries.
Out of the need, the Genesis
Series of Ministry Centers was born.
The Genesis models are Phase I
'starter' buildings (thus 'Genesis' -- beginnings)
for new churches or small congregations needing to relocate.
They are designed for maximum efficiency, with multiple
usage of spaces wherever possible. The various models allow
a church to select a size that best fits their needs, while
the pre-design saves the church the majority of any
architectural and design fees.
Prices are based on present costs in
central Indiana, and will be adjusted for your local
conditions. In the Northeast, and some metropolitan areas,
costs can run as much as 20 percent higher than Indiana, but
before we would start any construction, we would obtain
local prices and give you a fixed, guaranteed price.

We are confident that these designs will serve you well, and that we can build them very
economically, when compared to other quality buildings in your
area.
The Genesis Process
The Church will:

Acquire property. (if possible 10
acres or more, to allow for growth)

Provide Akers CBS with a
topographical site survey.

Arrange for financing.

Select, with Akers CBS' help, the
Genesis model that bests fits your needs.

Provide for utility services to the
site (within five feet of the building).
Akers
Church Building Services
will:

Master Plan your site to determine
the best location for the initial Genesis building, and
to allow for future growth and additional building
phases. (Master Planning at usual Akers CBS hourly fee
rates.)

Provide a cost estimate (plus or
minus 10 percent) --for your area-- for the selected
Genesis model.

Upon church acceptance of estimate,
will bid the project out and give a fixed, guaranteed
price

Complete the Genesis building on
your site, to the extent agreed upon. (Church may
provide some volunteer labor, or complete an unfinished
building.)

Do any additional architectural or
engineering work necessary at usual hourly rates
All prices quoted here are for a complete
building, ready to use, except for your loose furnishings,
phones, and sound system. In keeping with Akers Church Building
Services'
program of continuing improvements, all specifications,
descriptions, illustrations, and prices are subject to
change without notice.
