In 1989, Akers Church Building Services, Inc. did a
Facility Analysis/Feasibility Study (phase 1 services) for
Plainfield Christian Church, and recommended that the church
purchase the house and property next door and build a sanctuary
addition to the existing building. However, the owners of the
adjacent property did not wish to sell, so relocation became a
necessity if the congregation was to continue to grow. A new,
sixteen acre site was purchased, and because it was near the
"Williamsburg in the Woods" sub-division, the church
chose a colonial style for the new facility.
The new building houses a beautiful welcome/fellowship foyer, the
new Sanctuary seating approximately 1,200 (800 on the main floor
and 400 in the balcony), Administrative offices, classrooms, and
Fellowship Hall for a congregation of 1,000 plus. The site is
Master Planned for later addition of a Multi-Purpose Gymnasium
building, with additional classrooms.
